Does the factory regularly handle your category and construction? For women’s woven apparel, ask about dresses, blouses, skirts, pants, lining, drape and fit—not only general garment capacity.
Score each factory on evidence, not promises
Give every factory a score from 0 to 5 in the areas below. A useful answer should be specific to your product, fabric, quantity and launch date. Generic claims such as “best quality” or “any style available” are not evidence.
Ask what information is required, who checks the pattern, how measurements are recorded and how sample comments move into the next revision.
Confirm composition, weight, color, handfeel, shrinkage and minimum fabric order. The garment MOQ and mill MOQ are not always the same.
A low MOQ clothing manufacturer should explain how color count, size range, custom dyeing, print and trims change the practical minimum.
Ask which checkpoints cover fabric, cutting, sewing, measurements, finishing, packing and final inspection. Define tolerances before bulk cutting.
Check neck labels, care labels, hangtags, barcodes, polybags and carton marks. Confirm artwork format, placement and approval route.
Separate fabric sourcing, sampling, revision, bulk material preparation, sewing, inspection and packing. A date without assumptions is not a production plan.
Send the same RFQ to each supplier. Score how clearly they identify missing information, risks and next actions instead of only sending a price.

Use one RFQ so quotes remain comparable
Include product images or a tech pack, target fabric, quantity by color and size, labels, packaging, destination market and required delivery date. Ask every factory to state what is included, what remains unconfirmed and what could change the quote.
