Smart casual womenswear buyer checklist
A comparable blouse quote needs the same fabric, construction, quantity per style and branding scope. For a smart casual collection, confirm fit and wearing performance as well as the label artwork before approving production.
Specify composition, weight, colour reference and desired drape. Ask whether the sample uses the proposed bulk fabric. Check opacity under the intended wearing conditions; agree lining requirements and any shrinkage or colourfastness testing before the quote is finalized.
Provide bust, shoulder, sleeve, body length and other relevant measurement points with tolerances. Review placket gaping, collar shape, cuff openings, seam finish and ease of movement on the physical sample, not only on a mannequin photo.
Break quantities down by style, colour and size. Include labels, buttons, tags and packing details. Ask which sample, pattern, testing and freight costs are included and which are separate. Confirm the delivery basis and quote validity.
For example, a 100-piece blouse brief should identify the colour and size allocation for that one style. Several designs adding up to 100 pieces do not meet a 100-piece-per-style production threshold. Fabric and trim minimums still need confirmation.
