Choosing a private label clothing manufacturer is a trust decision, not just a price comparison. Buyers should verify sample quality, label support, communication, QC process and whether the factory can support repeat production from 100+ pcs/style.

A useful quote comparison starts with the same brief sent to every supplier. Compare factories on product fit, sample route, private label execution, QC evidence and ability to repeat an approved style—not only on the first quoted price.

1. Product category fitAsk what the factory makes most often. A supplier familiar with woven dresses, blouses, skirts and pants is easier to assess for women’s private label work than a general catalogue seller.
2. Sample routeConfirm the reference material required, sample fee, fabric availability, pattern adjustments, measurement tolerance and how fit comments are approved before bulk production.
3. Label and packaging briefPrepare logo artwork, neck labels, care labels, hang tags, barcode stickers, polybags, carton marks and packing ratios before asking for a final quotation.
4. QC checkpointsAsk when quality is checked, what production photos can be shared and how approved sample comments are carried into bulk production.
5. Repeat-order readinessCheck whether the supplier records the approved fabric, measurements, labels and packing details so a reorder can start from a clear reference.
6. Quote completenessCompare the same quantity, colourways, size range, fabric, trims, labels, packing and delivery requirement. An incomplete RFQ produces an unreliable price.

What to send in a private label clothing RFQ

Send enough information for a factory to assess feasibility before asking for a price. The following list makes the first reply more useful and reduces later quote changes.

Product specificationReference photos, a physical sample or tech pack; construction notes; fabric handfeel or composition; print, embroidery or trim requirements.
Order planQuantity per style and colour, size range, target market, first order versus repeat order, and the delivery date you are working toward.
Brand finishMain label, care label, hang tag, barcode, polybag, carton mark and any retailer or marketplace packaging rules.
Approval processWho signs off on fit, colour, artwork and packing; how comments are supplied; and whether you need QC photos before shipment.

Use direct questions that require an operational answer. This is more helpful than asking a supplier to simply confirm that it can do everything.
